An Exhibit of Paintings & Drawings by CATA Artists with Disabilities

MOVING THROUGH COLOR features vibrant paintings and drawings created by artists with disabilities from Community Access to the Arts (CATA). In their works, CATA artists express their unique perspectives and draw us into their world, revealing the power of art to nurture inclusion and connection.

Each piece was created in CATA arts workshops serving teens, adults, and elders with disabilities across Berkshire County, MA and Columbia County, NY. Through these year-round workshops, CATA artists grow creatively, learn new techniques, and find community. Several of the works were created in CATA’s Adaptive Painting Program, where artists with disabilities use a variety of adaptive techniques and tools to bring their creative vision to life. The exhibit also includes works created by teens with disabilities through CATA’s programs in local public schools.

All works in the exhibit are available for sale, with proceeds supporting commissions for the individual artists.

This exhibit is supported in part by Frames on Wheels, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Barr Foundation, and other generous donors. This exhibit is part of CATA’s “Art on Tour” program, where works created by CATA artists travel throughout the year to museums, galleries, community centers, and other venues in Berkshire and Columbia counties.
